Lunch + Learn: Trusting God in Job Transitions
In Michaela O’Donnell’s book Life in Flux, she cites research that found the average American experiences 30-40 major life transitions during adulthood. This is certainly true in the ever-changing landscape of job responsibilities, sectors, employers, or interests. We pursue new projects at work, we are staffed on undesirable assignments, we cultivate new interests and step out in faith to pursue them, we are hired and fired at unpredictable times – And in all of this, as Christians, we want to trust the God who is faithful, powerful, and loving.
This conversation will invite faithful, dedicated leaders in our city to share parts of their story of job transitions as a way to encourage attendees to remain connected to God, connected to community, confident in His Love, and growing in trust as they navigate their own transitions.
Join us for a discussion on faithfulness in the workplace with Tamekia Brewer, Lane Ford, and Lesley Scearce to hear their reflections on:
- How job transitions have challenged their trust in God
- How God has shown himself trustworthy through these seasons of change
- Practices that have helped them lean on God in these transitions
Whether you’re currently navigating a transition of your own or looking for wisdom for future changes big and small, we invite you to join us to hear from these leaders and connect with others seeking wisdom and reminders on what it looks like to practically put their trust in God.
We hope to see you there!
Lunch will be provided.
