SUMMARY:Lunch + Learn: Finding Wisdom Between the Sacred and Secular
DESCRIPTION:James 3 tells us “wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving\, considerate\, submissive\, full of mercy and good fruit\, impartial and sincere.” James also tells us “if any of you lacks wisdom\, you should ask God\, who gives generously to all without finding fault\, and it will be given to you.” But how do we actually receive and live this out in our workplace? How does the wisdom of God affect our practical daily decisions? \nIn our 2024-25 Lunch + Learn series we will be looking at what it means to lean into wisdom in our vocational lives. We will look at: \n\nWhat does it look like to seek wisdom in job/career transitions?\nHow do we lean into wisdom in daily decisions in the workplace?\nHow does wisdom change how we posture ourselves in the world?\nWhat are practices we can build into our work rhythms that help to lead with wisdom?\n\n \nIn our first luncheon in the series\, we are honored to have Shannon Greer\, owner of Mayfly Coffee and Cadence Coffee and pastor of RiverChurch Chattanooga\, share how he has learned to see Jesus in the ordinary\, sharing insights from his recent book Behind The Bar\, a compilation of stories and lessons learned from his customers at the coffee shop. \nWe hope you’ll join us as we begin to look at practical stories of people leading with wisdom in their work contexts. Tickets are $15 and include lunch!
